Meet The Providers

BASIMH's behavioral health services are dedicated to supporting refugee and immigrant families by providing exemplary, culturally responsive mental health care.

Our team of culturally competent and highly skilled licensed mental health professionals is trained in a variety of modalities and treatment approaches to address the unique challenges faced by these communities. Recognizing that immigration often leads to the disengagement or separation of the Haitian family system, our providers work collaboratively to restore harmony and strengthen family bonds.

OUR GOALS

Collaborative Care

BASIMH brings together providers from diverse backgrounds to address the predispositions contributing to family dissatisfaction and dysfunctional behaviors.

Cross Cultural Training

We aim to equip providers with the tools to practice cross-culturally with Haitian families. Through training programs, we emphasize a comprehensive and culturally sensitive approach rooted in an understanding of Haitian culture, history, and psychosocial dynamics.

Research and Education

Our team integrates critical analysis of psycho-social and psychoanalytic theories, norms, and mores to ensure that care is tailored to the needs of the Haitian community.
